Author Guidelines

All papers for Ittishal Educational Research Journal should be original works and submitted by following online submission system. Please review the guidelines below before submitting the papers. For specific questions or inquiries, please contact the editorial office at: journal@ittishal.net.  Ittishal Educational Research Journal does not accept paper submissions that are previously published, currently in-press, or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The paper for publication in Ittishal Educational Research Journal is reviewed based on the following criteria:

  1. Scope/relevance to the field of educational andor Islamic studies
  2. Conceptual framework  
  3. Overall contribution to the field
  4. Writing style, composition, and clarity

Submission Preparation Checklist

Please confirm your submission’s provisions with the requirements below. Submissions that do not appropriate to these guidelines may be returned to the author(s).

 

- Length and Formatting

The main document of the submitted paper should range 8 - 15 pages including all tables, figures, notes, and references. Pages must be typed with at least 3 cm margins left, right, top and bottom. Header and footer shall be positioned 16 mm (0.65 inch) from the edge.

All text paragraphs should be single spaced, with first line intended by 10 mm (0.4 inch). Double spacing should only be used before and after headings and subheadings. Position and style of headings and subheadings should follow this example. No spaces should be placed between paragraphs. 

Pages should be numbered consecutively.

Authors Guidelines

  1. Title
  • Paper title comprises no more than 15 words and is written using Book Antiqua with size 18, centred and bold, capitalize each word.
  1. Author(s) ‘ name (s) , affiliation and email address
  • Author(s)’ name(s) are written using Book Antiqua with size 12, capitalize each word, centred and bold.
  • The author’s affiliation are written by following order: Institustion, city, country. The affiliation is written using Book Antiqua with size 12, capitalize each word and centred.
  • Email address is written using Book Antiqua with size 12 and centred.
  1. Abstract  format
  • Paper size: A4
  • Indent: 1.5 cm (left and right)
  • Layout: one coloumn potrait
  • Words: less than 250 words
  • Font: Book Antiqua 12
  • Spacing: the paragraph must be justified and use single space
  • Keywords: not more than five keywords in alphabetical order separated by semi-colon must be provided to describe the content of the manuscript.
  1. Full paper format
  • Paper size: A4
  • Margin: 2.54 cm / 1 inch (all side)
  • Layout: one column potrait
  • Word: between 6.000 to 8.000 words or between 8 to 15 pages
  • Font: Book Antiqua , size 12
  • Main heading: INTRODUCTION, LITERATURE REVIEW, RESEARCH METHOD, RESEARCH FINDINGSAND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, REFERENCES, BIO STATEMENT.
  • The main headings use Book Antiqua with font size 12, bold, without underline. Write subheadings in Book Antiqua with font size12, bold as well as capitalise each word without bullets, numbering and underline.
  • All paragraphs must be justified and use single space.
  1. Language Accuracy

Papers should be written in English or Arabic. If the paper is written in Arabic, please provide us English version of the abstract.

  1. Fonts

The body of your paper should use 12-point Book Antiqua font. The styles available are bold, italic and underlined. It is recommended that text in figures is not smaller than 9-point font size.

  1. Tables and Figures

Figure captions and table headings should be sufficient to explain the figure or table without needing to refer to the text. Figures and tables not cited in the text should not be presented. All tables should be prepared in a form consistent and should be numbered consecutively with Roman numerals. Explanatory material should be given in the table legends and footnotes.  Each table should be prepared on a new page, embedded in the manuscript.

When a manuscript is submitted for publication, tables must also be submitted separately as data - .doc, .rtf, Excel or PowerPoint files- because tables submitted as image data cannot be edited for publication and are usually in low-resolution.

Submit an original figure or photograph.  Line drawings must be clear, with high black and white contrast. Each figure or photograph should be prepared on a new page, embedded in the manuscript for reviewing to keep the file of the manuscript under 5 MB.

  1. Conclusion

Conclusions should be concise, state the most important propositions of the paper as well as the author’s views of the practical implications of the results.

  1. References

References begin on their own page and are listed in alphabetical order by the first author's last name. Only references cited within the text should be included. Ensure that in-text (Citation) references are quoted as per the APA in-text citation style. All references should be in 12-point font and single-spaced.
